Fashion & Flat Whites: Saasha Scaife

Saasha looking gorgeous in this bright, colorful outfit. Loving all the details from the sleeves to the jewelry (especially those earrings)!

How has your style defined you?

I am a personal stylist so my style is showcasing my business in a way. When you first meet someone, your style is showing an element of your personality before you even start speaking to them.

Who would you say your style icon is?

Victoria Beckham, even though we have completely different body shapes. But I love how she keeps reinventing herself and changes her style every few years. And she is never afraid to try new things.

How long have you been interested in fashion, and what inspired your interest?

Since I was about 13 years old. I would buy tops and beg Mum to take me to the sewing shop to buy embellishments and fringing that I could add onto the clothing to give them more of my personality.

Can you tell us about your journey to body confidence?

I was always curvy, even when I was tiny in size. But I always used to compare myself to friends who were tall and skinny, while I was short and had boobs and a bum. As I have gotten older and started working as a stylist, I realize that every body shape is unique and I now embrace my body and only think about the parts I like.

What's your profession, and how does what you wear impact your professional life?

I am a personal stylist, so I live and breathe clothing. I am passionate about teaching others how to embrace their style and body positivity, and I am a color expert, therefore I like to wear clothes that are very colorful and that show women that you can be stylish and also comfortable at the same time.

How did you find out about Mys Tyler?

Another stylist I know was a Contributor, so I thought I would like to get involved as well.

How has using Mys Tyler impacted you?

Well it's just fun! It's a different platform than your usual insta, etc. And there are women of all shapes and sizes, ages and backgrounds. The ultimate place for body positivity.

Have you enjoyed being a Contributor of Mys Tyler inspiring women?

I have enjoyed it so much. It is fun to be with a bunch of like minded women, and unlike Instagram, on Mys Tyler it is ALL about fun style.

Saasha pictured above in a fabulous vegan leather biker jacket and shirred bodice dress. Love it as much as we do? You can find these pieces on her Mys Tyler profile to shop this look!

What's one fashion hack you love?

Knowing your body shape. If you know your body shape and how to dress for it, to enhance the features you love and hide the features you don't love as much, you can never go wrong.

What's the perfect formula for a feel-good outfit?

Fabric, fit, color. You need to wear a fabric that is not going to be restrictive, as that's always uncomfortable. You need to make sure it is the right fit for your body shape. And it needs to be the right color for your skin tone. If a color isn't right for you, it's going to make you look washed out and tired.

What do you hope the future of fashion will look like?

Versatile! Realizing that women have different needs and that we don't all fit into one box. Lots of variation for women's different lifestyles would be a bonus.

What advice would you give your younger self if you had the chance?

Do not follow other people! Find your signature style that works for you and your body shape. There is no point wearing what someone else wears, who has a totally different body shape, that is just setting yourself up for negative body feelings.

Ladies, embrace your figures and your coloring. Do you! Don’t waste time thinking about what you dislike, it is such a waste of energy. We are all beautiful in our own ways.
